A collection of eateries and dishes I have tried and enjoyed in South Africa.
In South Africa, “Braai” is a form of Barbeque that involves a group-effort-based cooking experience. A Braai is based off of grilled meat seasoned with “Braai” spices (which are apparently unknown by most). From what I have learned it involves some curry powder, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, and tumeric – but it can change every time! The meats range from woers, pork strips, brisket, liver, kidneys, anyting! And it’s all freshly grilled to order. Braai is often served with “Pap”, a traditional South African carb made from “mealy meal” (aka corn meal).
